The only cycling event of its kind in the contiguous United States, The Black & Blue, which is a double century (200-mile) relay, showcases the incredibly scenic and at times demanding mountainous roads of Northwestern North Carolina and Southwestern Virginia.  The Black & Blue is a bike challenge like no other.

The Black & Blue consists of 1 (solo) to 8 person teams that rotate through (8) 25-mile stages as they cover the 200-mile distance and 16,000′ of elevation gain. Riders will complete anywhere from 25 miles to 200 miles. The Black & Blue starts and finishes at the Riverside Restaurant on the banks of the New River in Todd, NC. The course primarily follows scenic, country roads as it winds its way through the rural regions of North Carolina and Virginia’s High Country. The course features some of the region’s most spectacular scenery.

The Black and Blue century (110-mile) relay shares approximately 90 miles with the double century as it winds it’s way through the mountains of North Carolina and Virginia.  The century consists of 1 (solo) to 4 person teams that rotate through (4) 25-mile stages and 9,000′ of climbing.
